Innovators solving complex challenges with smart engineering

Gus Lopez, PE
Principal Associate
Gus’s devotion to his profession continues with the same vigor he had when becoming a professional engineer 31 years ago. Since then, he has built a respectable portfolio of work in the civil engineering industry, which has been formed from many years of master planning, design efforts, and administration of construction activities. Gus can apply correct approaches and genuine knowledge to overcome barriers. His expertise in modeling hydraulic and biological attributes of treatment facilities and collection systems and the special attention he gives to developing processes surrounding solids treatment make him an invaluable resource.
To this day, I enjoy working as a professional engineer, especially at a firm filled with like-minded professionals with much experience and expertise. It’s also a privilege to work with our talented young engineers. I believe that surrounding myself with such people and allowing myself to draw upon their talents contribute to the productive and resourceful environment I’m delighted to be a part of at Wilson.
A Personal Note
Gus understands that being an engineer can often require extended office or field hours; however, dividing time between work and life is also important to him to keep alive his passion for his craft. Thus, he ensures that he keeps a balance by spending time outdoors with his family and two dogs on a regular basis. He particularly enjoys exploring remote areas in Arizona with his Ford Bronco.
